Six Sigma Green Belts should have a good understanding of the DMAIC process and an understanding of how process changes can be implemented. They work directly with Black Belts to define processes within their organization. They begin by determining who is the owner of the process they are working to improve. This is the single individual or group with responsibility for the end-to-end process. Next they define the scope, boundaries, or limitations for the process. The final step is to develop a high level process map which shows the start and end points of the process.
You’ll learn about SIPOC diagrams and Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) elements like Cost, process, safety, and delivery. You’ll also gain an understanding of the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and how it is measured in different industries. Green Belts must have a strong understanding of who your customers are and what is important to them. Understanding customer feedback through the Voice of the Customer (VOC) and determining the requirements for your product. Prioritizing issues related to your product, you’ll work to determine internal processes and what causes variation.

No, the Six Sigma Green Belt Certification course includes all of the course work for the Green Belt and Yellow Belt levels. You will learn the Yellow Belt material first, before moving on to the Green Belt material. This certification is aligned with the MSI Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge.
Green Belts must function at a high level within a Six Sigma project. It is important for Green Belts to have a solid understanding of the related principles so that they can perform the functions assigned to them by a Black Belt. This test is open book, however it is also timed, so you will not have much time to look up answers to questions. It is very important that you study and understand the material prior to taking the test or you will not pass.
The Six Sigma Green Belt online certification course, by definition, is a mid-level certification. It is not designed to make you an expert on all facets of the Six Sigma. This professional development course was designed to teach someone with little knowledge of Six Sigma the basic skills needed to function as a Green Belt on a Six Sigma team. This certification exam is timed with a limit of 2 hours. The exam is completed online from home or work. You may take the exam as soon as you are ready, it does not need to be scheduled in advance. All questions are multiple choice.
You will be mailed a Certificate Of Completion, as well as a letter of congratulations and two copies of our training verification letters which you can give to employers who request it. The certificate is heavy-stock, cream paper suitable for framing.
Participants who successfully complete this certification program will receive 20 Professional Competency Units (PCUs) from MSI.
